My sisters dog has been very well trained since she bought him and started training him (he’s around eight months old), he’s trained to go to the the bathroom on special pads, but lately he’s been going on the furniture and floor which he’s never done before, and he’ll use the pads as well. Why is he doing this? He definitely knows better,
In case it matters it’s a male, of course, yorkshire terrier
- There’s no other animals in the house and we’re hoping not to neuter him if there’s another solution

We have new furniture (leather) and new rugs (wool) in the two rooms by the front door. My dog goes ballistic when anyone comes to the door, jumped on the furniture to look out and acts all ferocious… We haven’t put down the rugs yet… we have hardwood floors… but I do know that when she has an accident, which is rare, but when she does… she goes straight for the throw rugs to do it on. I’m afraid she will do this again. Does anyone have any suggestions to help us keep the dog out of the front two rooms altogether? We bought something called Pet Zones… which delivers a small shock when you come close to it, but she has decided that the small shock is worth it and goes in there anyway. We don’t want to have to crate her when we’re gone, but maybe we’ll have to do that again. It’s just that she’s 5, and hasn’t been crated for years. Any ideas?
Also, if we lock her in the bathroom, she chews up the doors trying to get out…
Great ideas… all. Thank you so much.
Atlantagal - no thanks on exchanging the rugs. I’ll figure out a way not to allow my dog to design my house for me, or by using cheap rugs which do NOT look the same as nice ones.
Thanks again everyone.

eurorican192000 asked: we just got a rescued dog about 2 months ago. He is a 2 year old neutered poodle. we were told he is house trained. He was pretty good about going to bathroom outside till recently he had one accident in the house.
Till then he is having accidents too often. He is starting to **** on our couch. Why is he pooping on the furniture?
our two year old poodle that is a rescued dog is having issues. He is very curious about everything and everyone. He’s not had good owners in the past so he tends to be afraid a lot.
we notice he goes **** and *** when he is nervous or scared. He is house trained but recently he has been pooping in the house. He WILL NOT **** out side. Also he poops on our couch. Why is he doing this? He goes *** outside though. Could it be that he is confused? how could I fix this problem?

AysiaBoo asked: Recently I just got my first dog and she is a puppy (8 months old). She is a {part Doberman & Pit Bull}, mostly Doberman. I am asking any dog owner for advice and tips for anything. (potty training, behavior, feeding, etc).
I have one problem. When I am not home she tends to get on the furniture and sit there. I know she knows better because when I am home she doesn’t do this. What can I do to stop it? Also she knows to go use the bathroom downstairs. I set out newspaper and sometimes she’ll use the paper and other times she wont. What can I do to get her to use the bathroom on the paper?
what is spayed?
